The Riverside girls basketball team got back on the winning track with a 49-35 win over Kettle Falls on Tuesday.
The Lady Rams, who dropped two Northeast A League games last week, opened up a 11-0 lead over the Bulldogs and then held off a couple of Kettle Falls attempts to catch up.
Kettle Falls cut the lead to 14-8 by the end of the first quarter only to have Riverside go on a 10-4 run. The Lady Rams led 26-15 at halftime before the roof started to cave in on both teams, literally.
When the teams came to start the third quarter they found a nasty water leak on the gym floor. The water was coming from a hole in the roof that could not be easily fixed. Instead, the second half of the game was move to the middle school.
Kettle Falls used the new location to cut the Riverside lead to 34-28 with 8 minutes remaining. The Lady Rams, however, went on the 16-7 run to put the game out of reach.
The win improved the Lady Rams’ NE-A record to 3-2 and 7-5 overall. The Bulldogs fell to 0-5, 4-7.
Courtney Davis led the Lady Rams with a season-high 31 points.
Josie Stanard paced the Bulldogs with 14 points.
