With the small south Main Street construction project completed, work on the south Forest Avenue refurbishing project will start around June 25.
The project, to be done by Spokane Rock Products, will completely repave Forest Avenue from Crawford Avenue to “D” Street. Sidewalks, curbing and street lights will be also be placed on both sides of the street.
Deer Park Director of Community Services Roger Krieger expects the project to take between 6-8 weeks to complete.
Deer Park Library officials have been told that the work will not interfere with patrons trying to use the facility, although they may have to enter Forest Avenue from “D” Street.
Main funding for the $475,000 project is through the state’s Transportation Improvement Board. The city is responsible for 20 percent of the project cost.
