The Deer Park Stags had no answer for Clarkston’s inside game, especially in the first half, as the Bantams rolled to a 62-42 win on Tuesday.
Clarkston’s power game helped the Bantams build a 15-point lead early in the second quarter.
The Stags managed to cut the lead to 36-24 on a pair of 3-pointers from Uconn Peone, only to have the Bantams’ Drew Adams answer with a long range jumper just before intermission.
For most of the second half, the Bantams were content to play a ball control offense.
The Stags’ last hurrah came on a Zach Mohr 3-pointer that closed the game to 45-34.
Once again, Adams answered with a 3-pointer to give Clarkston some breathing room.
The Bantams slowly stretched their lead in the fourth quarter to improve their Great Northern League record to 5-6. Deer Park fell to 4-7.
The Stags, who played without starting forward Reece Ferguson, were led by Peone with 22 points. Adams paced Clarkston with 27 points.
