James M. Thompson passed thru the “Golden Gates” on Aug. 19, 2011, at the Spokane Veterans Affairs Community Living Center.
James was met at the “Golden Gates” by his father, Milas D. “Gramps” Thompson; his mother, Pamela Wheaton; little brother, Patrick A. “Pat” Thompson; and a niece, Angel Thompson.
James was born in Guthrie, Okla., on March 11, 1960, and raised in Federal Way, Wash. He resided in Springdale since 1994.
James was a man who loved everyone no matter what and would help in any way he could no matter who you were he would give you the shirt off his back to help but you would have to check to be sure he had a shirt for himself.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserve, U.S. Army and the U.S. Army National Guard.
James is survived by 4 brothers; Milas D. “Smokey” Thompson (LaVonne) of Toledo, Wash., Albert C. “Al” Thompson (Penny) of Orting, Wash., Benjamin L. “Ben” Thompson (Doris) of Buda, Texas and Clarence E. “Ed” Thompson (Lani) of Springdale; nephews, Seth Thompson serving in Afganastan, Keith Eby of Chewelah, J.R. Thompson of New Hamshire, Rico Iaukea (Tara Templeton) of Chewelah, and Shaun Eby (Katya) of Burien, Wash.; nieces, Adela Thompson of New Hamshire, Anna, Angela and Mickey Thompson, Serena Thomas of Seattle, Rhianna Thomas (Richie Swearngin) of Springdale., Maili Smith (Roger) of Spokane and Claudia Witherspoon (Michael) of Springdale; great-nephews, Rayden Swearngin, Jacob and Eli Smith; great-nieces, Anela Thomas, Richelle and Rilynne Swearngin, Naomi Iaukea; and longtime friend of over 30 years, Jeff Isaacson (Kate) of Seattle.
