Woman killed in north Spokane mobile home fire

February 2, 2012

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office major crimes detectives are assisting Fire Districts 4 and 9 with the investigation of a mobile home fire on Bull Run Road on Thursday morning.
The fire was reported at approximately 5 a.m. When emergency personnel arrived on scene, the doublewide mobile home was fully engulfed.
According to mobile home occupants there were five people who lived in the home, three adults and two children. Both children and two of the adults were able to safely exit the residence. An adult female was not able to exit the home.
The name of the victim was not immediately released.
Because the fire resulted in a fatality it is common practice for Sheriff’s Office major crimes detectives to assist in the investigation. If it is determined that there were no crimes involved with the cause of the fire, the scene will be released to fire personnel.
If it is determined that the cause of the fire was criminal in nature, detectives will take over as the lead investigators.
