Wesley L. Strong, 72

Wesley Lyle Strong went home to be with the Lord on Monday Sept. 3 2012, in Fairbanks Alaska. He was 72 years old.
He was born to Lyle and Ethylene Strong on Oct. 26 1939, in Deer Park.
Wesley decided to follow his heart to Alaska and has called Fairbanks his home for more than 25 years.
He passed away with his family by his side. His ashes were spread along the banks of the Tanana River where he spent much of his time shooting his guns and watching the aurora borealis. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his sister, Marjorie Denny of Spokane; his children, Shelly Reilly of Deer Park, Heidi Dougherty (Terry) of Deer Park, Michael Strong of Deer Park and Nicole Witters (Rob) of Clarkston Wash.; four grandchildren: Shayne Thacker (Jay), Matt Dougherty, Whitney Reilly and Taylor Reilly; one great-grandson, James; three nieces, Kim, Robin and Karde’e; his aunt, Nitta Funk; and numerous cousins.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 13 at the Woodland Cemetery gazebo, located at 5410 W. Monroe Road Deer Park.
