Shirley A. (Gale) Robinson, age 47, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane.

She was born in Spokane on May 10, 1960, to Ina and Dewey Gale. Shirley graduated from University High School in 1978 and married Douglas Robinson in September 1985. She moved to Grand Canyon, Ariz., in 1986 where she worked as an assistant secretary of housing for the Canyon.

In 1991, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and was no longer able to work. In December 2000, she moved back to Spokane to be closer to an MS facility and rehabilitation center.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dewey.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Douglas Robinson, and their son, David, of Grand Canyon, Ariz.; her mother, Ina Gale, and stepfather, Allen Harris of Springdale; her brother, Stephen Gale, and his wife, Denise, their daughters, Jaclyn Gale, Stephanie and her husband Todd Hickman of Spokane Valley; her sister, Sally, and her husband, Richard Hibbard, their son Joseph “Joe” and daughter Jennifer “Jenny” and her husband, Craig Wise, of Deer Park; two great-nephews and two great-nieces; her aunts, Phyllis Shurtlieff of Spokane, Darlene Dormaier of Spokane Valley, Donna McGuin Winkler of Elma, Wash., and Sandi Wasemiller of Vancouver, Wash.; and numerous cousins.

Shirley was a vibrant, outgoing person with a beautiful smile and upbeat attitude for life. She loved her family dearly, and she was loved by everyone who met her. Shirley will be greatly missed.

Private services will be held at a later date.
