Funeral services were May 3 at the Deer Park United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Debra Conklin and Richard Chase officiating, followed by a reception at the church for lifelong Deer Park resident James H. “Jim” Justice Sr., 82, who died on April 26 in Spokane.
Born Aug 22, 1925, to the late Thomas H. and Arline M. Justice in Valley, he graduated from Deer Park High School in 1943 and served in the Army during World War II, seeing action in the South Pacific and Iwo Jima. He worked for many years with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring as the postmaster in Springdale in 1980. He and his wife, Marilyn Ferguson-Justice, wintered in Desert Hot Springs for many years. Mr. Justice, an avid hunter and fisherman, was a Scout Master in the Spokane Valley for many years. A sister, Trudy Blomgren, predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, at the home; two sons, James T. Justice Jr., and Carl E. Justice, both of Spokane; one daughter, Gloria Jean Shulte of Spokane; three stepsons, Randy Rouse of Spokane, Bruce Norton of Deer Park and Roger Norton of Rio Rancho, N.M.; one stepdaughter, Beverly Robertson of Spokane; one brother, Carl Justice of Deer Park; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Inurnment was at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane. Lauer Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. |
