Deer Park School District officials received a clean bill of health from a pair of audits conducted by the Washington State Auditor’s Office. The office did not find any errors in an audit that looked at various school district financial activities, including cash receipting, payroll and personnel, budget compliance, bidding, enrollment and transportation reporting and disbursement and expenditures, for a period between Jan. 1, 2006, and Dec. 31, 2007.
In a separate audit, state officials did not find any errors after looking at the school district’s financial statements and federal awards for the same period. The auditors looked at financial statements arising from schedule of long-term debt, schedule of federal awards, balance sheet and statement of revenue, expenditures and changes in fund balances. The officials also noted that school district officials have made the necessary changes to a previous audit that found deficiencies in compliance with financial reporting and cash management for Title I and Special Education grants. |
