Retail sales grow in Deer Park in 2007 |

Taxable retail sales jumped by more than 5 percent in Deer Park in 2007, according to state statistics. According to the Department of Revenue, retail sales in Deer Park was $70.77 million in 2007 as compared to $67.1 million in 2006, a 5.48 percent increase. Retail sales do not include sales from retail outlets and do not include sales related to construction and other non-retail industries.
The town of Springdale saw a .1 percent decrease in sales ($2.473 million last year as compared to $2.476 million in 2006). As for the unincorporated areas of Spokane County, retail sales grew from $7.27 billion in 2006 to $2.683 billion in 2007, a 5.57 percent increase. Over the same period, Stevens County’s retail sales grew by 9.96 million ($335.16 million to $368.55 million). Statewide, the retail sales increase jumped from $110.5 billion to $118.2 billion, a 6.99 percent increase. |
