ESD to look at school district land transfer
Monday, 29 November 1999

A public hearing will be held 1:30 p.m. Oct. 23 on a citizen's petition to adjust the public school boundary between Deer Park and the Nine Mile Falls School districts at the Educational Service District 101 administration office, S.4202 Regal St., Spokane.

The purpose of the public hearing will be to accept testimony regarding the proposed transfer of territory. The property being considered for transfer, valued at more than $9 million in assessed valuation,  is entirely within Stevens County.

Some of the residents in the affected property wanted the transfer because of the closer proximity of Lakeside schools than to Deer Park schools.

The ESD regional committee will meet after the hearing to discuss and act on the petition.

Anyone may appear at the public hearing to speak for or against the petition.

Any questions may be referred to Regional Committee Secretary  Dr. Terry A. Munther at 789-3501 or ESD School Financial Services Director Crista Emerson, at 456-2718.
