Elk man wanted by police

Image

Secret Witness is offering a cash reward for information that results in the capture of an Elk fugitive wanted for first-degree possession of stolen property.

Burton E. Pendleton III, 28, whose last known home address was N34124 Newport Highway, was driving a stolen 1991 Honda Accord when he was stopped by police on May 7, 2006.  As he was being ordered out of the vehicle, he suddenly accelerated and crashed the Honda into a parked car which was shoved into a second parked car.

Pendleton’s driving skill and disregard of the law have earned him a spot on local law enforcement’s Repeat Offender Program.

His lengthy criminal record includes convictions for numerous traffic misdemeanors as well as possession of stolen property, possession of controlled substance, attempting to elude a police vehicle, residential burglary, theft, refusal to cooperate, obstructing, domestic violence assault and numerous probation violations.

Pendleton’s current felony warrant carries no bail.

He is 6 feet tall and weighs 185 pounds.  He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Persons with information regarding his whereabouts should call the Secret Witness Tip Line at 327-5111.  Callers do not have to give their name to collect the cash reward, but should leave a code name or number with the operator.
