School OK's Feist recommendation

The 17-member Deer Park School District advisory committee recommended the hiring of Joe Feist as the new high school principal.

The school board agreed with the recommendation on June 12.

Feist is the current principal at the alternative high school and Home-Link in the Chewelah School District. He will take over for Trip Goodall, who will become Deer Park’s director of special programs.

Feist, who has lived in the Deer Park School District the past couple of years, worked in the South Whidbey and West Valley School districts prior to coming to Chewelah.

He is also active with the executive board of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.
