Stags place 28th in WIAA Scholastic Cup competition

The Deer Park High School athletic program, bolstered by a state wrestling championship and a third place finish in the boys state cross country meet, placed 28th for Class 2A schools in the annual Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Scholastic Cup competition.
The Stags earned 305 points during the school year.
Archbishop Murphy was the runaway winner in the Class 2A ranks with 1,605 points.
The Riverside Rams, whose best sports finish this school year was a second place finish in the girls cross country championship, placed 38th in the Class1A cup competition with 175 points.
King’s won the Class 1A cup with 1,485 points.
Other division winners were Mead (4A, 1245); Mercer Island (3A, 1,775); Bear Creek (2B, 1,035); Mount Rainier Lutheran (1B, 1,025).
