Stags look for winning formula

October 11, 2013

The Stag defense has been tested the past two weeks.

The Deer Park Stags return home for the first time in three weeks with hopes of ending a four-game losing streak, the longest such skein in seven years.
The Stags (0-1 in Great Northern League play and 1-4 overall) play host to West Valley (1-1, 2-3) at 7 p.m. Friday.
The Eagles, coming off a 32-14 win over Clarkston, rely maining on the running game of sophomore tandem Zeck Herford and Tevin Duke.
Quarterback Austin Lee’s passing arm has emerged in the past couple of weeks.
As for the Stags, the defense has been battered in the last couple of weeks. The Deer Park defenders have surrendered 114 points in the past two weeks, the most second most points the Stags have surrendered in back-to-back games in school history.
Tailback Theron Taylor and quarterback Nic Clough sparked the Stag offense last week with a pair of touchdown runs each.
