November 12, 2011

The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate a three-car head-on accident on U.S. Highway 395 near Clayton on Friday that left 56-year-old Spokane man dead.
The accident, near the Williams Valley Road intersection, occurred at around 5:20 p.m. and fully blocked the southbound lane of the highway.
According to the Washington State Patrol, David Robison tried to enter the highway at the Williams Valley Road intersection and was struck by southbound car driven by Andrea K. Hansen of Chewelah. Hansen’s car then struck a northbound pickup truck driven by a Deer Park teenager.
Robison was pronounced dead at the scene. Hansen, a 15-year-old passenger in her car and the Deer Park driver were all treated at Providence Holy Family Hospital. Another teenager in Hansen’s car was treated at the scene.
WSP investigators said alcohol was not a factor. All the people involved in the accident were wearing seatbelts.
WSP units set up a detour through Clayton as the highway was blocked for a couple of hours.
