Sheriff's Department investigatin luring incident report in Springdale

The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Springdale Marshal’s Office with a report of child luring in Springdale.
At around 5 p.m. on March 21 the first report was made to the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office. A 10-year-old female reported that a man in his late teens to mid 20s stopped her as she was walking along State Highway 231 in the town of Springdale. The man offered the her candy before the child ran away.
The male began to follow her but was scared off by the girl’s father who was nearby.
A second report was made around 7 p.m. but with further investigation it was determined to be the same incident.
The male was driving a mid-1990-early 2000’s green SUV, possibly a Chevy Tahoe, Blazer or similar vehicle.
Area school officials have been notified and are asked to be vigilant in reporting any suspicious activity.
