Settlers enjoys another successful run

Even the pooper scoopers decked themselves out in colorful gear.

Sunny skies and large crowds were the perfect combination to help partake in the 90th Tri-County Settlers Association celebration.
The festivities featured a morning parade with more than 90 entries and an afternoon picnic in Mix Park that included kids games, a petting zoo and musical entertainment.
The Spokane Lilac Festival float took the parade’s top prize, the sweepstakes award. The Ritzville Community Float won the mayor’s award and Real Estate Marketplace’s Jim Palmer Sr. and Jr. won the judges’ award.

Commercial — 1, Lodi Water. 2, Deer Park Veterinary Clinic.
Antique cars (1949 and older) — 1, Reardan-Edwall royalty (1948 Victoria Packard). Todd Mielke (1936 Ford Cabriolet).
Antique cars (1950 and newer) — 1, Dell Dillon (1962 Olds Mobile Coup). 2, Charlene Jorgensen (1945 Thunderbird).
Service groups — 1, El Katif Calliope. 2, Sons of Norway.
Marching groups — 1, World War II era Army unit. 2, Faith Lutheran Church.
Novelty — 1, Mini-semi truck (Todd Lindsay). 2, Mike Kinyon.
The Deer Park Float Association received the Tri-County Settlers Community Service Traveling Trophy established in the memory of the late Les Parkhurst.
