Deer Park SCOPE volunteers will be out in force on Halloween to enhance the safety of children as they roam neighborhoods in search of sugary booty.
Citizens on Patrol (COP), a community safety program that involves citizen volunteers driving through neighborhoods, will provide a visible deterrent. Using retired sheriff’s patrol cars, COP participants can quickly alert deputies to potential or active criminal activity.
The Deer Park SCOPE station at E316 Crawford (the lower level of city hall) will be open from 4-7 p.m. and 9 p.m.-midnight on Halloween to provide a safe haven for children and their parents if needed.
