Rachel Goodner crowned Miss Deer Park

Rachel Goodner receives congratulations following Saturday's Miss Deer Park contest at Deer Park High School.

Rachel Goodner was crowned the 58th Miss Deer Park in front of a sellout crowd at the Ken Fisher Performing Arts Center at Deer Park High School on Saturday night.
Goodner, daughter of Tony and Dawn Goodner, earned a $1,000 scholarship for winning the title. She also earned scholarships for winning the creative and performing arts section with her vocal rendition of the French song “Je Suis Malade,” and the judges’ interview, fitness and scholastic sections.
Kristin Brown, daughter of Fred and Kathy Brown, and Katelyn Richter, daughter of John Richter and Shirley Richter, were named the program princesses. They each received $500 scholarships for their selection.
Brown also won the presence and composure’s scholarship and received the Bill and Bette Cox Award.
Rachel Shrauger won the Spirit of Miss Deer Park. The $100 scholarship was voted on by the contestants.
