Quentin D. Ratliff, 79

Quentin Davis Ratliff was born on Aug. 13, 1933, to Arthur and Dorothy Ratliff in Milan, Wash. He passed away peacefully on Jan. 25, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Nick.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 58 years, Nancy; a brother, Truman (Leah) Ratliff; a daughter, Debbie (Greg) Andrus; two grandchildren, Michael Redmon and Ashley Ratliff; a great-grandson, Walter Redmon; a close family friend, Cheryl Avery; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Quentin graduated from Riverside High School with the Class of 1951. He worked at the Montgomery-Wards warehouse, for Spokane County and Erick’s Realty.
He grew up with a musical family and developed a lifelong passion for the saxophone. With his love of music, he went on to perform throughout the Northwest and Canada with the “Mom & Dads.” They were well known for playing the “Rangers Waltz.”
He was also a volunteer fireman with Spokane County Fire District No. 4 for 35 years.
He loved the outdoors, riding four-wheelers with buddies and spending time at the river with family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Chattaroy Community Church.
