Osterholm ready for another parade/rodeo season

April 25, 2012

Deer Park's Katy Osterholm

Deer Park’s Katy Osterholm and her longtime companion, a black and white paint horse, Apache, will not have to worry about staying busy again this year.
The 18-year-old Osterholm, daughter of Kim and Lonnie Osterholm, took part in the 2010 summer area parade and rodeo circuit as the Clayton Pee Wee Rodeo queen. Last year, she did it again as the Springdale Frontier Days Pro West Rodeo queen. Her newest title is Miss Spangle, which carries most of the same appearance duties as the other two titles.
The Miss Spangle title will also allow Osterholm to wear her signature bright yellow outfit, which is her way of supporting U.S. troops.
A 2011 Deer Park High School graduate, Osterholm is currently taking pre-veterinary courses at Spokane Falls Community College with hopes of continuing in that field at Washington State University.
As for future parade and rodeo duties, Osterholm is looking at running for Miss Pro West or Miss Spokane Interstate Fair next year.
