Naomi J. Gaber, 90

Naomi Jane (Allison) Gaber, 90, a very longtime resident of Deer Park and Deer Lake, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011.
Jane is the dear wife of Walter Leo Gaber of Deer Park (married 59 years) and the loving mother and mother-in-law of Janelle Gaber Dorsing and husband, Terry of Royal City, Wash., Anne Gaber of Spokane Valley and a daughter-in-law, Donna Gardner of Deer Park.
Her brother, R. Thomas Gardner, and wife, Delores, reside at Mead.
Jane enjoyed four grandchildren, Scott Gardner and wife, Jacque, Brooke Gardner Lyons and husband, Michael, Bryce Dorsing and wife, Sharah, and Patrick Dorsing and wife, Nicole.
Her great-grandchildren are MyKaela Gardner, Jake Gardner, Taylor Lyons and Tyler Lyons.
Jane is preceded in death by her son, Bill Gardner; a brother, Dean Allison; and her parents, Jim Allison and Audra Naomi (Dutton) Allison.
Jane was a family member in the home of Roy and Nellie Gardner for many years.
Born in 1920 at Coeur d’Alene, she attended John Rogers High School and Kinman Business University in Spokane. She was employed for many years at Mix Variety Store in Deer Park.
Jane had many fond memories while living in Fairbanks, Alaska, with her son, Bill Gardner.
Jane was a member of St. Mary’s Presentation Church in Deer Park, the church’s Altar Society and Folk Music Group. She also taught the children catechism, ladies Bible studies and children’s music with guitar and piano.
She worked with the Deer Park School District at the high school with students having alcohol and drug-related problems.
Jane was very active for many years with the Loon Lake Women’s Guild.
The Funeral Mass honoring Mrs. Gaber will be in Deer Park at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at St. Mary Presentation Catholic Church at East 606 Sixth Ave. with the Rev. Albert Grasher Jr. and the Rev. Dan Wetzler celebrants followed by interment in Holy Redeemer/Kelly Cemetery in Deer Park.
A reception will be held at the church following the interment.
Jane’s family suggests memorial contributions be made to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or the Christian Children’s Association.
