Muriel Oberg

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 21 at the Chattaroy Community Church, E3711 Chattaroy Road, for area resident Muriel (Smith) Oberg, 76, who passed away on Jan. 14, 2012.
Born on Nov. 5, 1935 in her aunt's log cabin near Newport, to George and Rena Smith, she married Leonard Oberg in 1954 and together they raised four children in Spokane.
She went to work for Pacific NW Bell in 1954 and retired from Qwest in 1991.
Mrs. Oberg enjoyed working in her garden, fishing, traveling to the ocean, her Mustang Cobra GT, luncheons with the "Lavender Ladies", and family get-togethers. She spent several years as a den mom and spent many hours doing volunteer work with the “Pioneers.”
She is survived by four children; two brothers; one sister; seven grandchildren; and many cousins.
Riplinger Funeral Home and Crematory, Spokane, will be in charge of arrangements.
