Loon Lake man charged in road rage shooting

A 26-year-old Loon Lake man was arrested on Friday evening following an apparent road rage incident that sent another man to a Spokane hospital with a bullet wound to the shoulder
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to the Loon Lake Saloon and Grill by his girlfriend at around 8 p.m. after he had been shot while driving on State Highway 292.
A bar patron applied pressure to the wound until emergency crews could arrive on the scene. The victim was taken to the Loon Lake Grade School where he was transported by helicopter to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. He was listed in stable condition following surgery.
Following an investigation by the Stevens County Sheriff’s deputies and Washington State Patrol troopers, Matthew Richmond was arrested and charged with first-degree assault.
