Linda J. Coe, 66

December 5, 2012

Linda Jean Coe was born on Sept. 16, 1946, in Bell, Calif., to Erik and Clara Ferm. Linda was raised by her aunt and uncle, Gunde and Albert Rude in Wallace, Idaho.
Linda had two sisters, Judy (Mitch) Almeida and Carol Mueller, and a stepbrother, Loren Rude.
On July 18, 1970, Linda married Gary Coe. They would continue as soulmates and best friends over the next 42 years. In 1977, they moved to Loon Lake where they still reside. The family includes two sons, Brad (Kari Kaufman) and Brian (Lisa Miller) and seven grandchildren.
Linda loved music and children. Following graduation from Pacific Lutheran University (bachelor’s degree in education in 1968), Linda taught music and physical education in the Deer Park schools for 30 years. Nearly every Deer Park Elementary School student over three decades had “Mrs. Coe” as a teacher.
Her other accomplishments included a recording session in Nashville, Tenn., finishing as Ms. Congeniality and first runner-up in a Miss America qualifying pageant, being a member of the “Choir of the West” and a cheerleader at PLU.
A memorial service is planned for Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. at Deer Park High School.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Linda’s name be made to the Hospice House of Spokane.
