Lady Stag spikers sweep Medical Lake

October 12, 2011

Deer Park's Kimmie Brazington (10) and Ciera Sitton provide a roadblock to Medical Lake's Makenzie Biesecker during Tuesday's action.

The Deer Park volleyball team staged a pair of comebacks to defeat Medical Lake 25-15, 25-29, 25-23 in Great Northern League action on Tuesday.
The Lady Stags, who broke open a 10-10 tie to easily win the first game, fell behind early in the second game. An ace by the Cardinals Raquel Alsept game Medical Lake a 16-8 lead before the Lady Stags made their move.
Zoey Mohr’s kill through a pair of Cardinal blockers gave Deer Park a 20-19 lead. An ace by Haley Wainwright gave the Lady Stags some breathing room at 22-20 and they cruised the rest of the way.
Neither team could game any momentum early in the third game. Tied again at 10-10, Medical Lake took advantage of some sloppy Deer Park play to take a 14-11 lead.
Another Mohr kill gave the Lady Stags an 18-17 advantage only to see the teams tied at 23-23.
Alisha Perez ended the match with a kill.
Senior Kimmie Brazington led the Lady Stags with nine kills, while Amarah Nicholson led the Cardinals with six.
