Karen L. Myrick, 67

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 14 at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel, N7200 Wall St. Spokane, for former Deer Park resident Karen L. Myrick, 67, who passed away on Sept. 17.
Raised in Milwaukee, Wis., she spent her summers playing on Lake Michigan with her sister, Patricia. In 1958, she moved with her family to Spokane, where she attended Rogers High School. She and her husband, Neil, moved to Deer Park in 1979.
Karen was preceded in death by her grandmother, Alice Steffes, her mother, Audrey Brickner, and stepfather, Gregory Brickner.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Neil Myrick of Spokane; her children, Kerry Edwards and Kelly Shorter, both of Spokane, Mark Myrick of Douglas, Mass., and Amber Myrick of Boise Idaho; two sisters, Jeannine Tipke and Patricia McCullough; one brother, James Brickner; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Myrick enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading a good mystery novel or watching a classic movie.
Hennessey Smith Funeral Home, Spokane, will be in charge of arrangements.
Donations can be made in Karen's name to St. Francis Xavier, 3715 N. Standard, Spokane, Washington and Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N. Havana St. Spokane, Washington 99217.
