Karen D. Doll, 67

Karen Diane Doll, 67, a resident of Diamond Lake (near Newport), passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Spokane.
Karen is the dear mother and mother-in-law of Gene, Job, Justin, Corrine and Steve Rogers and Bobbi Jo and William Owens. Her stepchildren are Mike, Donald, Bill and Jennifer Bingle and Barbara and Mark VanWinkle. Karen’s brother and sisters are Joe (Juanita) Baker, Della (Mel) Southern and Sharon Houghtlind and her life partner John Wing. She enjoyed 20 grandchildren and seven and one-half great-grandchildren.
Karen is preceded in death by her son, Joseph; her parents, Albert and Katherene Banning; and a brother, John.
She was born in 1945 in Ione, Wash., and attended Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane. Karen was a logger and enjoyed raising exotic birds.
She was always proud of her children, loved the outdoors and being an aviculturist.
Karen was especially proud of her Native-American heritage she inherited from her family who were members of the Spokane Confederated Tribe of Indians.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Church in the Wildwoods in Deer Park with Pastor Ben Foxworth officiating. Interment followed at Elk Cemetery No. 1.
Lauer Funeral Home, Deer Park, was in charge of arrangements.
