Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 12 at St. Peter's Parish, 3520 18th St., Spokane, followed by graveside services at Fairmount Memorial Park, Spokane, for former Washington Brick and Lime Co. supervisor John Talarico, 97, who passed away on Aug. 6.
Born on Dec. 10, 1913, in Spokane, he worked for Washington Brick & Lime in Clayton for 40 years and held a variety of positions from forklift operator to superintendent. His inventions were very much appreciated at the plant.
Mr. Talarico was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener, bowler and loved to attend his grandchildren's sporting events. He also loved to sing, dance and play the harmonica.
He was a longtime member of the American Italian Club.
John was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Scott Santa Rosa, and five siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Babe; two daughters, Bette (Ed) Santa Rosa and JoAnne (Larry) Anderson, both of Spokane; one sister, Angeline DeFrancesco of Spokane; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Heritage Funeral Home, Spokane, will be in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
