Irvin W. Abrahamson, 80

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on May 9 at St. Philippe Benizi Church in Ford for former area resident for Irvin W. Abrahamson, 80, who passed away on May 4 at his Plummer, Idaho, home.
Born on April 2, 1932, at Ford to Milo and Millie (Wynne) Abrahamson, he attended grade school at Ford and high school in Springdale, WA. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, he returned to the Spokane Indian Reservation.
Mr. Abrahamson worked as a logger for most of his adult life. He fell trees, operated a skidder, and was a logging truck driver. He lived in Washington, Montana, and Idaho most all of his life and retired for health reason in the late 1990s.
After moving to Plummer, he worked for the Benewah Medical Clinic transport department until 2000.
He was a member of the Spokane Tribe of Indians, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Men's Club at Worley, Idaho.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, at the Plummer home; three daughters, Sharon Garcia and Cindy LaDeaux, both of Plummer, and Becky Dixon of Elma, New York; one son, Irvin Abrahamson Jr. of Plummer; three brothers, James of Keller, Wash., Melvin of Ford and Thomas of Spokane; one sister, Delores Smallwood of Spokane; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Kramer Funeral Home, Tekoa, Wash., was in charge of arrangements.
