Investigation continues into fatal cycle crash

September 5, 2013

Spokane County Sheriff's deputies continue to investigate a fatal motorcycle accident on Blanchard Road in Elk early Thursday morning.
Deputies responded to the accident on Blanchard and Jackson roads at around 1 a.m. When they arrived they found a deceased 42-year-old male rider.
Investigators say the rider failed to negotiate a curve on Blanchard Road and struck a tree.  At this time it is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office will provide identity and cause of death after an autopsy is completed.
