The Pullman Greyhounds, using their height advantage and timely outside shooting, rolled past the Deer Park Stags 68-42 on Friday.
The Greyhounds, who led 31-25 at halftime, went on a 14-2 run in the first 3:30 minutes of the first quarter to put the game out of reach.
While 6-foot-6 Corey Landerveld, who finished with 17 points, did most of his damage around the basket, guards Austin Blake and Brady Barrett did their work from long range. The pair combined for 28 points.
The Stags (0-2 in the Great Northern League and 4-6 overall) rallied in the second quarter thanks to some timely outside shooting. Uconn Peone, Zach Mohr and Blake Starbuck all hit three-pointers as Deer Park cut the lead to 26-25 with slightly more than a minute before halftime.
The Greyhounds (2-0, 9-1) responded with a 5-0 run to end the quarter and were never seriously threatened in the second half.
Starbuck led the Stags with 15 points.
