A funeral service was held Feb. 9 at the Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, Spokane, for Chattaroy resident Florence A. (Campbell) Cox, 91, who passed away on Feb. 3, 2012, in Spokane.
Born on Feb. 14, 1920, in Regina, Saskatchewan, to Archie Walker Campbell and Ruth Edna (Urban) Campbell, she lived in New York before moving to Spokane in 1968. She moved to Chattaroy in 1986.
She enjoyed quilting, reading, traveling, and listening to music.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Madison Cox, Sr.; a son, Walter Madison Cox, Jr.; and three siblings, Burt and Archie Campbell and Albina "Betty" Elliott.
She is survived by five children, Ruth (Richard) Taylor, Mary Cox, Bruce Campbell, Marci (Karl) Kollat, and Emily (Mike) Deaver; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Heritage Funeral Home, Spokane, was in charge of arrangements.
The family requests memorials be made in her name to the Spokane Public Library Foundation, Attn: Sandra Kernerman, 906 W. Main Ave., Spokane, WA 99201 to purchase large print materials or to the Alzheimer's Association Inland Northwest Chapter, 910 W. Fifth Ave., Ste. 256, Spokane, WA 99204.
