Emergency crews have a busy Friday afternoon

September 7, 2012

Department of Natural Resources firefighters helped battle a brush/timber fire on Dalton Road on Friday afternoon.

Area emergency crews had a busy Friday afternoon.
At around 3 p.m., firefighters from Spokane County Fire District No. 4 (Stations 41, 42, 45 and 49) and the Department of Natural Resources were called out to an acre-size brush and timber fire on Dalton Road near Owens Road.
The fire closed a portion of Dalton Road, which forced traffic, including school buses, to find alternative routes through the area.
While fire crews were getting the Dalton Road fire under control, DNR was called to another brush fire in a remote area near Horseshoe Lake.
And to top off the busy afternoon, another unit from SCFD4’s Station 49 and Deer Park Ambulance were dispatched to a traffic accident at the intersection of Staley and Monroe roads.
