Elite cyclist to race on Deer Park streets

August 9, 2013

Deer Park Physical Therapy & Fitness Center have teamed up with Spokane’s cycling club, Spokane Rocket Velo, to host the Deer Park Physical Therapy Time Trial bike race on Aug. 17.
Time trails are often regarded as a “race of truth,” with single riders being let loose every 60 seconds in a race against the clock along this 13-mile course starting near North and Eighth streets and finishing near Colville Avenue and Fourth Street.
The Deer Park Physical Therapy Time Trial will host riders from Women’s Category 4, up to Men’s Category 1 starting at 11 a.m. After the races have concluded, cash and merchandise prizes along with race prizes will be awarded.
Registration and parking are available onsite at Mix Park starting at 9 a.m. Online registration is available at www.usacycling.org.
The entry fee is $25 with a valid 2013 USA Cycling license. A one-day license can be purchased for an additional $10. WSBA rental numbers are also available on-site for $10 ($5 refunded when returned).
For more information regarding the race, contact race organizer Alan Jacob at Info@SpokaneRocketVelo.com or at (509) 270-8347.
