Driver seriously hurt in Blanchard Road crash

March 26, 2013

Excessive speed was blamed, in part, for a one-car accident on east Blanchard Road on Tuesday that left the driver in critical condition.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, the 23-year-old driver, whose name was not released, was traveling on Blanchard Road at around 1 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and became airborne. The vehicle then struck a couple of pine trees prior to coming to rest.
The driver was transported to a local hospital.
Investigators determined speed and impairment were factors in the collision.
