"Drive Hammered" patrols yield 119 arrests

September 11, 2013

Law enforcement agencies in Spokane, Ferry and Pend Oreille counties stopped and arrested 119 motorists in the recent “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
The campaign, which ran from Aug. 16-Sept. 2, targeted motorists driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Last year, the extra patrols, funded by a Washington Transportation Safety Commission grant, arrested 133 motorists.
The patrols are part of “Target Zero,” which hopes to end all traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030.
