The Deer Park softball team ran its modest winning streak to three with a doubleheader sweep of Clarkston on Friday.
The Lady Stags defeated the Bantams 11-1, 9-2 to run their Great Northern League record to 3-3.
Deer Park pitcher Kylie Sweeney did most of the damage in the first game with her right arm and bat. The sophomore limited the Bantams to only one hit, a solo home run by catcher Morgan Alivert in the second inning.
Sweeney helped erase the deficit in the third inning with the first of her two home runs. Sweeney added another bomb in the fifth inning as the Lady Stags built a 10-1 lead.
Sweeney, who struck out 15 West Valley batters on Tuesday, finished the game on Friday with 16 strike outs.
The Lady Stags, led by the hitting of Kelli Hughes and Carlie Durgeloh and Sweeney on the mound, built a 7-1 lead on their way to the sweep.
Hughes finished with two triples while Durgeloh belted a home run. Sweeney finished with 17 strikeouts.
