DP's Joe Grable heading to NCU

Deer Park’s Joe Grable, who capped off his prep wrestling career with his second state Class 2A championship in February, has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at Northern Colorado University next season.
Grable joins Central Valley High School’s Colton Orrino in the NCU program in 2014-15.
Grable finished his senior season with a 37-2 overall record and a career record of 147-16, giving him the school record for victories.
Also on his wrestling resume is a runner-up finish at the 2011 Folkstyle Nationals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, a seventh-place showing at the 2012 junior Greco-Roman Nationals in Fargo, N.D., a 2012 Tristate championship and a fifth-place finish at FloNationals in 2014.
Grable is expected to wrestle at 149 pounds at Northern Colorado.
"We are very pleased to sign both of these fine young men," said NCU head coach Ben Cherrington. "Colton and Joe will fit into our program nicely. We heard nothing but good things about both of these guys from people that are around them on a daily basis, so we are confident that they will help our current team represent what it means to be a UNC Bear in this community and across campus."
UNC competes in the Western Wrestling Conference, a six-school league that competes at the NCAA Division I level.
