DP's Cartee earns three Riverside Invite medals

May 3, 2014

Deer Park's Anna Cartee bested the field in the long jump competition on Friday.

Deer Park’s Anna Cartee took home a trio of championships at Friday’s Riverside Twilight Invitational.
The junior won the 100 hurdles with a 15.84 performance and later captured the long jump title with a 15-foot, 8-5-inch effort and the triple jump championship at 35-10.75.
The triple jump effort set a new meet record, besting the old mark by more than an inch.
Helped by Cartee’s championships, the Lady Stags placed third in the final team standings, trailing champion Lakeside and Colfax.
The Deer Park boys, which got first place finishes from Aaron Obert (discus and shot put) and Brandon Mauget (high jump), won the team title, easily outlasting runner-up Lakeside 124.5-80.
