Doris L. Dezotell, 84

Doris Leone Dezotell, 84, passed away on April 12 at her home near Deer Park. Doris was born on July 14, 1927, in Didsbury, Alberta, Canada.
She is survived by three children, Dianne, Melvin and Joann; five grandchildren, Connie, Karen, D.J, Jessica and Amanda; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Doris moved to the United States in the 1950s and lived the rest of her life in Spokane and Deer Park, working as a cook in many different restaurants. She also worked a year in the Prod Bay Oil Fields in Alaska.
She was very active in the community, especially in later years. She was a member of REAC, Eagles, VFW and Hillyard, Sinto and Corbin Senior centers. She was a former leader of the Apache Riders 4-H Club.
She loved to travel and was always there to help out her friends and family.
She was very proud of being elected Settlers Queen in 1982 and getting her GED at the age of 81.
She was always happy and smiling and will be missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice or the Deer Park Food Bank or REAC.
There will be a “celebration of life” at the Deer Park Eagles Lodge, W12 South Ave., on Saturday, April 21, at 1 p.m. Please join us to say good-bye “for now” to our beloved Mother and Grandmother.
