Deer Park students hurt in bus crash

The first day of school for some Deer Park students had a memorable ending, as they were involved in a school bus-car accident at the on Herman Road on Wednesday afternoon.
According to KHQ-TV, it appeared the driver of the car pulled out of public driveway and did not see the bus as it traveled on the unimproved road.
Spokane County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Spokane County Fire District No. 4 and Deer Park Ambulance personnel were dispatched to the scene. No one was seriously injured in the accident, but about a half-dozen children suffered various cuts and were treated at the scene.
Some parents picked up their children at the crash site while others were transported home on another school bus.
