Deer Park pharmacy hit by armed robber again

December 31, 2011

For the second time in less than a month, an armed robber struck The Medicine Shoppe at E11 "H" Street in Deer Park.
The latest incident occurred at about 4 p.m. Friday by a man who handed employees a note demanding pain medication. The suspect vaguely resembled the man who robbed the same business on Dec. 5.
In the Dec. 29 robbery, the suspect handed employees a note and indicated he was armed with a gun, although no firearm was displayed.
He obtained an undisclosed amount of pain medications and retrieved the note he handed to employees before fleeing the store. He ran from the pharmacy and across Main Street as did the suspect earlier in the month. In this robbery, an employee followed the suspect who ran into the trailer park at S.600 Main St.
No one was injured in the robbery on Friday.
The suspect was described as a white male in his early 20s who was 5-foot-8 and thin. He had blond hair, blue eyes and a two-day growth of beard.
The robber wore a black beanie cap, a tan fleece jacket, blue cargo pants and black leather gloves.
Anyone with information regarding either armed robbery is urged to contact sheriff's office detectives at Crime Check at 456-2233.
