Dale R. Wendt, 72

Dale was born on Aug. 5, 1940, in Holton, Kan., to Ralph and Ruby (Anderson) Wendt. Later, his childhood was spent in Pasco, Wash. He married Norma Bolton on Aug. 13, 1961.
Dale graduated from Walla Walla College with a Master’s of Education. After living in Spokane and College Place, Wash., he spent many years in the Portland area and worked at the Portland Adventist Medical Center. In 2003, Dale and Norma retired and moved to Deer Park.
Through the years he enjoyed boating, bird watching and photography. He will be remembered as a hardworking, tolerant and understanding man by those who knew him.
Dale is survived by his wife, Norma; his son, Rodney Wendt (Anne); a son-in-law, Jim Wallace (Rocio); five grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and a sister, Marilyn Beck (Gordon).
Dale was preceded in death by his daughter, Cherri Wallace; and by his parents.
A memorial service will be held in Dale's honor on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 11a.m. at the Linwood Seventh-day Adventist Church in Spokane.
