Could Deer Park be home for missing canine

September 30, 2013

Is this Deer Park dog Oakley?

A nationwide search for a 2-year-old Yellow Labrador has landed in Deer Park.
First Lt. Brandon Harker, who lives in Lakewood, Wash., has been searching for Oakley since he returned from Afghanistan earlier this year.
Harker left Oakley with a friend while deployed in the Mideast. Upon his return to Joint Base Lewis McChord near Seattle, he discovered his friend had disposed of the dog.
With very little clues on Oakley’s whereabouts, Harker has been working tirelessly to try and find his dog, including a post on Craigslist describing his pet.
Harker’s plight has also been the subject of news reports on various news outlets, including CNN and Good Morning America.
The Deer Park area became part of the search when a Sept. 28 Craigslist post told of a found Yellow Lab west of the city. The post showed a photo of the dog and described him as young and polite with no collar. Unfortunately, the person placing the Craigslist ad has not responded to any on-line inquiries.
Harker said Oakley, who has dark yellow spots on his face and legs, would be easy to identify since he has been mircrochipped.
