City snowplows also bring out parking tickets

Some city residents were in for more of a surprise than the couple of inches of snow last week.
Spokane County Sheriff’s Department deputies issued about 10 tickets to motorists who ignored the no-parking signs that are found downtown, in new residential areas or locations that have narrow streets.
The posted signs make it illegal to park on the street from 3-8 a.m. daily from October to March.
The tickets, depending on which deputy wrote them, carry a $20 to $35 fine.
The tickets should not come as too much of surprise for some residents, since they received warnings on their windshields from deputies about the winter parking regulations before the first snowfall.
