Chargers have two coaching vacancies

Mary Walker High School has begun the search for a pair of new varsity coaches.
The school district is looking for replacements for head football coach Mark Edwards and boys basketball coach Dave Howard.
• Edwards assumed control of the Charger football program in 2006. While he did not have winning record in any of his seven seasons (12-51 overall), the Chargers did advance to the regional playoffs in 2010.
• Howard recently completed his second year as Charger head basketball coach. His team finished the first season 4-17 overall and 2-14 in the Northeast 2B League. The lack of wins did not stop fellow NE-2B coach from selecting him co-coach of the year.
Last season, Howard, who was an assistant to former longtime head coach Dwayne Watts, finished with a 0-22 overall record and 0-14 in the NE-2B.
