Carolyn M. Trueblood, 71

Carolyn Michaele Trueblood of Deer Park passed away on March 21, 2014.
Carolyn was born Aug. 10, 1942 in Big Timber, Mont. Carolyn was known for her fine arts painting. Her paintings were shown in numerous galleries throughout the nation. She was also an excellent art instructor and teacher and will be remembered by her many students.
Carolyn was the oldest of four children and helped raise her younger brothers.
Carolyn married Dr. William Trueblood of Yakima, Wash., in 1960. Following their love of nature, the couple purchased a home and farm north of Deer Park in the 1970s. There they raised their two daughters, Amy Kay and Carol Ann “Annie.”
Carolyn will also be remembered for her tireless work with the Arc of Spokane and as a passionate advocate for people with developmental disabilities. Carolyn was active in promoting legislation to empower self-reliance and community living arrangements for the developmentally disabled in the 1980s.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bill.
She is survived by her children, Amy Kay (Jay) Lindh and Annie Trueblood, as well as her two beloved grandsons, Dane H. T. Lindh and Drew W.T. Lindh.
The family would ask that any memorial donations be given in Carolyn’s memory to the Arc of Spokane, 320 E. Second Ave., Spokane, WA 99202.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 28, at 3:30 p.m. at the Open Door Congregational UCC, 205 N. Main St., Deer Park. A reception to follow at the Boyer Mountain Masonic Lodge on north Main Street in Deer Park.
