The Mountain Goats, which saw their football state championship aspirations disappear with an opening round playoff loss to the Rams in November, saw the same fate befall their boys basketball team on Saturday.
The Rams, who never trailed in the loser-out bi-district playoff game, eliminated the Goats 39-28. Riverside (20-5) will head to regional playoff action next weekend.
The Deer Park Stags got a rebound basket by Travis Pierce and three free throws to hold off the West Valley Eagles 52-45 on Friday.

The Colville wrestling team, which has spent the past two years chasing the Deer Park Stags, finally caught its Great Northern League rival on Wednesday.
The Indians, the top ranked Class 2A team in the state, got a first period pin from 113-pound Alex Linn to defeat the Stags 38-32.
It was a match where neither team could build any sizeable lead.
The Indians’ biggest lead of 20-14 came after Ryley Smith defeated Jacob Boswell in the 182-pound match. The Stags’ biggest lead of 26-20 came when 195-pound Trevor Eicher, making his season debut, needed only 37 seconds to pin Spencer Frank.
The Deer Park Stags built an early 16-0 lead on their way to a 44-30 Great Northern League wrestling win over Cheney on Wednesday.

Cheney narrowed the margin to 28-18 before 220-pound Cody Devore scored a pin of Jacob Hill to give Deer Park an almost insurmountable lead.
